July 28, 2009 by Emily

These are some more story stones from the new Fairy Tale Series. Stay tuned for magic beans, a basket of magic stones, and more.

Oh, and I created a flickr photo group page (in the sidebar) for those who would like to share pictures of projects that were inspired by a Red Bird Craft design. I love seeing the beautiful creations that were inspired by one of my projects or designs, so please, please consider posting your creations!
Crafty connection is the best.

About Emily

Hi, I’m Emily. I love discovering ways for people to stretch the boundaries of their imaginations. I’m especially interested in exploring the connection between art & writing, and how both can nurture people’s capacity to imagine. I share inspiration, projects, curriculum ideas, creative tools, and links to fantastic resources in this space.

Welcome!
I’m so glad you are here.

Love your little Red! Ours do look alike. We’re really into all the creepy Grimm fairy tales at our house right now.

These are too precious, especially LRRH and the wand. I can’t wait until Immy is old enough to enjoy such beautiful learning resources as these.

Totally in love with these! Red Riding Hood, with her tiny eyes and absent mouth, reminds me of the characters in a book I had as a child. I’ll have to dig that out.

Thanks, everyone! I’m having fun working on themes/groups, and fairy tales seemed like a fine place to start.

Thank you for your delightful story stones. I’m a teacher of little children and these are wonderful tutorials. I am hoping to get some of my Mommies together to make some stories come alive in kid’s homes where they don’t have a lot of money or books. These made my day, often I have talented Mommies who just need an inspiration to get them thinking of how to bring school home with them! THANK YOU for your wonderful inspiration. These Mommies may not even read, in any language, but these will get dialogue and storytelling into their homes! Love love love these. Can’t wait to share with my principal and reading teacher. If there is any money perhaps we can even find a way to purchase some of yours (This is a BIG Maybe unfortunately… most art or extra projects come out of my pockets. So perhaps I can tell you how grateful I am that you’re here and are just the antedote to a problem I’ve been facing! I hope you sell many stones, I’ll certainly tell people about you. Are you on Flickr, if so I’d love to favorite you and then the Mommies I know can find you and buy story stones from you!

    Dear Laura,

I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. Life has been so, so busy. Thank you so much for your Story Stone love. Your support and kind words mean the world to me. I especially like hearing that you plan to use the Stones as way to facilitate story telling and conversation with people who struggle to read. One of things I love so much about Story Stones is that it allows for universal conversation without language barriers.

Oh, and since you asked, my etsy shop is listed in the sidebar.

Please keep in touch! I’d love to hear more!

Did you use fabric for these ones or something else? It kind of looks like the Stockmar wax or something. They are so awesome!! I can’t wait to make some.

    Hi Dawn –

Thanks so much! I used various kinds of paper for these specific ones. Have fun making your own!

    Hi Tara –

I do plan on listing some fairy tale sets in my shop soon. If you conversation me at my etsy shop (www.redbirdcrafts.etsy.com), I can let you know as soon as I post them. Thanks!
