Creative Journaling Workshop for Teens
This playful workshop encourages kids to experiment with ideas, words, color, and abstract shapes. Each workshop features fun art and writing prompts meant to inspire creative thinking. There will be sketching, list making, poetry, collage, watercolor, and more! Time will be set aside for those who wish to share and discuss their creations with the group. Prompts for this workshop come from my forthcoming creative journaling book for ages 9-13, in stores February 2017.

No previous art making or writing skills are needed. Imperfect and unfinished work is celebrated!

Registration, Deposit, and Cancellation
To register for class, a 50% deposit is required. The deposit must be received for a spot to be held for you. Deposit is non-refundable, but can be used towards a future class or workshop as long as I am given two-weeks notice before the beginning of class.
The tuition balance is due on the first day of class. Payment plans are available.
Unfortunately, I am not able to offer a refund if someone wishes to leave the workshop early.

About Emily:
Emily Neuburger is a writer, artist, and teacher. She is the author of the 5 time award winning book, Show Me A Story: 40 Craft Projects and Activities to Spark Children’s Storytelling and Journal Sparks, a creative journaling book for kids ages 9-13 (to be released in February 2017). She has been teaching writing and art to children and teens for over fifteen years. After receiving her Masters of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T) from Smith College, Emily happily taught English and writing at two Massachusetts high schools. It was there that she found her passion for encouraging kids to get pumped about creativity. Throughout her career, she’s been especially interested in how art intersects with writing, and how both nurture people’s capacity to imagine. Emily’s work is a balanced blend of skill-based learning, encouragement, as well as lessons in self-discovery and artistic experimentation. Emily has contributed to FamilyFun Magazine and authored their Everyday Fun blog on Parents.com. Many of her projects for children have been published across the web on popular sites such as Poppytalk, Apartment Therapy, Crafty Crow, Makezine/Craftzine, and in both FamilyFun and Parenting print magazines.
